BSNL Broadband Errors, their meaning and their solution

If you want to enjoy the connectivity of BSNL broadband smoothly than you should know the meaning of all broadband errors which can occur to anyone and at anytime.

This is the series of 3 articles where we will tell you the meaning of these broadband errors and how you can fix them yourself.

BSNL Broadband Error 678

This is the error which faced by maximum of the users and it can occur because of many reasons and many faults. These faults can be on your splitter, on your line, on your modem and may be in your computer as well.

Solution for error 678

  • Keep your modem off for 2 minutes and after 2 minutes switch on it again. Generally it works in maximum cases.
  • If its not working even after switching off than reset your modem with a pin at the back of your modem (there will be a tinny hole). Reset it when your modem is on.
  • If the error 678 is still showing than this is the fault of your line.
  • But however check the splitter, put phone line jack directly on your modem and try again.
  • Make sure that all jacks (main wire jack on splitter, phone jack, and modem jack) are not loose and properly attached.
  • If you are getting still same error message than contact broadband section in your local BSNL telephone exchange (written complain will be good for future reference).

BSNL Broadband Error 691

Generally this kind of error comes at the beginning or when you bought or installed new broadband connection.

Meaning of this error is user ID or password is not correct or mismatch.

Solution for error 691

  • Either try to remember your user ID and password or search for that document in which you got your user id and password.
  • If you did not get such document than contact your nearest BSNL broadband section and request them to allot you new user ID and password.

BSNL Broadband Error 769

Meaning of this error is that your LAN is not working or disabled.

Solution for error 769

These can be because of two reasons –

  • Your LAN card is not properly attached or is loose
  • Your LAN connections disabled through windows option.

In first case where LAN card is not properly attached simply open your CPU and just press a little the LAN slot to the motherboard.

In second case follow these steps –

  • Come at your desktop screen of your computer.
  • Right click on the icon of My Network Places
  • Select properties (at bottom)
  • You will find local area connection icon
  • Right click on local area connection and press “enable” option.
